A dream became Reality and then came panic!

Emily Bradley, Felt Art studio on Sep 21st 2026

A funny thing happened when the dream finally became real.

One of my monsters showed up.

It’s been just one month since we moved Felt Art Studio to Hartline, Washington. Right now, the studio is still very much a work in progress—old carpet is coming out, walls are moving, paint is coming next, and most of my wool is still tucked away in boxes.

And somewhere in the middle of all that mess, Borrower arrived.

Borrower is my imposter monster.

He likes to whisper:

You’re not ready yet.
You should know more by now.
Your skills aren’t where they should be.

The funny thing is… he’s right about one thing.

I do have more to learn.

A lot more.

But having more to learn doesn’t mean I don’t belong here.

It means I’m still growing.

That’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot as I create this studio—and as I create the little wool monsters that represent the things that get in the way of our creativity.

Perfectionism. Comparison. Procrastination. Self-doubt.

I’m learning that when I can name the monster, I can recognize it, smile at it, and keep making anyway.

So the studio isn’t finished.

Neither am I.

And perhaps that’s exactly the point.

Come in. Meet the monsters. Create anyway.

More from Hartline soon. ?
