When you take a felting class at Felt Art Studio, you’re not just learning a craft—you’re stepping into the same playful, hand-built process behind every character that wanders out of my needle and into the world. We start with natural wool, rich with texture and possibility, and slowly coax it into shape using simple tools, patient hands, and a dash of whimsy.
You’ll learn how I blend different fibers, build tiny armatures for strength and personality, and sculpt expressive details one gentle poke at a time. No molds, no machines—just wool, wire, storytelling, and the quiet joy of making something that feels alive.
Whether you’re creating your first creature or adding new skills to your creative toolkit, each class is designed to be encouraging, hands-on, and delightfully relaxed. Beginners are absolutely welcome—felting is wonderfully forgiving and endlessly fun.

Monster Class
Unleash your imagination in this playful fiber art class! Learn the foundations of creature creation using wire armature, dynamic posing techniques, and needle felting. I’ll guide you step-by-step as you bring your own unique monster to life—from building the inner structure, to sculpting expressive features, to adding final fuzzy flourishes. No experience necessary—just bring your creativity (and maybe a sense of mischief). All materials provided. Suitable for beginners and returning felters alike.
Duration: 2 x 6 hour sessions
Class Minimum: 4 Class Maximum: 8
Age: 10-14 may attend if accompanied by an adult (adult is not required to pay but will not make their own monster)

In Studio- St. Maries, ID: $100 per person includes all supplies
Off-Site: $350 Instructor fee + $40 Materials Per Person. (Travel Expenses will apply if over 150 miles from studio.)
Polar Bear Class
Learn the basics of hand sewing while creating your very own adorable polar bear! In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll work with soft wool felt, simple patterns, and easy stitches to bring your bear to life—no sewing machine needed. We’ll cover essential techniques, from threading a needle to assembling and stuffing your bear with personality and charm.
Duration: 1 x 4 hour session
Class Minimum: 4 Class Maximum: 10
Age: 10-14 may attend if accompanied by an adult (adult is not required to pay but will not make their own bear)
