Welcome to Altitude Artworx Felt Art Studio.
A little about me...
I discovered cross-stitching at the age of 12, marking the beginning of my lifelong passion for various art forms. Over the years, I have honed my skills in numerous techniques, firmly believing that everyone has an artist within them—they just need to find their medium.
I had the honor of serving as the event director for one of the most prestigious and long-standing arts festivals in the southwest. During my tenure, the board decided to impose stricter criteria for participants to eliminate the surge of buy/sell art infiltrating the market in the early 2000s. This role afforded me the unique opportunity to visit art studios across the South West, spending countless hours learning from artists about their processes, techniques, and witnessing their deep-seated passion. This exposure significantly broadened my artistic horizons, leading me to explore wool felt as a new medium.
With over 30 years dedicated to refining my craft, I have celebrated numerous successes, including gallery exhibits, participation in arts festivals, features in art magazines, and having my pieces included in private corporate collections.
Sharing my knowledge and love for art has always been a joy for me. I have had the pleasure of teaching community art classes, working with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, church groups, and homeschool groups. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student discover the medium that ignites their creativity and uplifts their spirit as they create.
My artistic journey has taken me through various mediums—glass, pyrography, paper making, carving, clay, and watercolor. However, my true passion lies in fiber arts. My sculptures combine wool felt and felting, incorporating hand stitching and embroidery throughout the process.
Since settling in North Idaho, I have been eager to share my art with the world and to be part of a community of new creators, fostering a shared passion for art.
